Tenby Sailing club

Dinghy Racing

Last Sunday’s club racing was cancelled due to the weather conditions out in the bay; however, Dan Jackson and Chris Mackay from Tenby went to Tata Sailing Club for the Osprey Open Meeting. Over the weekend there were five races sailed and after dropping the worst result, they come a very impressive second overall. A big congratulations goes out to the lads from T.S.C.

Junior Sailing

Sailing sessions started last Wed 10th This first meeting was very successful and a good time was had by all. It was pleasing to see twenty-six youngsters turn up and take to the water. The juniors were split into 4 groups. Stage 1, 2 to 3, & stage 3 to 4 and advanced. They were kept under the ever-watchful eyes of the four Instructors Max and Harry Richards, Alistair MacKay and Howard Yeates.

Also, many thanks to all the other helpers who helped to get the youngsters on and off the water.  The evening concluded with excellent BBQ food served up by The Harbour Restaurant and it was enjoyed by all. Just a quick reminder to all registered juniors, please turn up by 1700 in order to get on the water by 1745.  All sessions are weather permitting but there will always be sessions onshore in their place.

Commodores Quiz

This year we are raising funds for a Defibrillator to be sited outside the club at the bottom of the stone steps by the big doors. Due to the location this will also have to be a heated cabinet, the defib will then be listed on the local network and will benefit the wider community and visitors alike. The cost of the unit will be £1300.

The next quiz will be held on Saturday 27th April at 1930 so make it a date in your diary and come down to the club and have a bit of fun while raising money for our Defib. Cost of the entry to the quiz is £5 for a team of up to six people or £1 if you think you can go it alone. There will be a league running for the whole year up to the final in November, you don’t have to be part of the league just come for a laugh whilst raising money. Alongside the quiz there will be a raffle, all prize donations will be gratefully received.
