Commodores Quiz

Last Saturday saw the thrilling second round of the Commodores monthly quiz, this month seven teams took part, there was a welcome return of the Lone Dogs well Helen anyway and we saw a few new teams these are the Bohos, Welsh Wobblers and The Bar so a big welcome to them. There was a distinct hole left by the Princess Consuela Banana Hammock team who couldn’t make it. This Months scores went like this, First the Cola Clan with 63, then in order The Dashers 57, The Bohos 56, The Four Amigo’s 51, The Bar 44, Welsh Wobblers 32 and not least the Lone Dogs with 21.

This year we are raising funds for a Defibrillator to be sited outside the club at the bottom of the stone steps by the big doors. Due to the location this will also have to be a heated cabinet, the defib will then be listed on the local network and will benefit the wider community and visitors alike as there will be a defib situated on the harbour. Dur to the location the defib box will be a heated one for obvious reasons, and they carry the cost of £1300 complete.

So please come down to the next quiz tomorrow Saturday 30th March at 1930 to have a bit of fun while raising money for our Defib. Cost of the entry to the quiz is £5 for a team of up to six people or £1 if you think you can go it alone. There will be a league running for the whole year up to the final in November you don’t have to be part of the league just come for a laugh whilst raising money. Alongside the quiz there will be a raffle, all prize donations will be gratefully received.

If anyone would like to donate to the Defib Fund please get in contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This year we are hosting the 2000 National Championships from the 10th to the 16th of August. We would not be able to put on these events without the help of willing volunteers, so if you would like to help out on all or some of these dates please get in touch. There are positions both on and off the water so no sailing experience is necessary if you would like to volunteer or have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch

New members welcome; sailors, aspirant sailors and non-sailors. We are a member’s club run by volunteers who try to involve all members in a variety of activities both sailing and social.
