Dinghy Racing

Racing on Tuesday the 18th was cancelled due to the tail end of hurricane Helena from that there America and with Storm Ali impending. Although some brave souls (some would say idiots) decided to go out for the race on Saturday 21st the race was abandoned to the weather conditions oh and the capsizing and breakages.

Junior Sailing

Junior training continued this last week all be it with the simulator and theory back in the club house due to the first named storm this year Ali, Junior sailing sessions have now ceased for this year most have now completed their certificates these will be presented at end of season party on wed Oct 10th starting at 1800, food will be provided parents and helpers are invited. Many thanks to all the volunteers who have helped to run the 26 sessions involving training a total of 50 youngsters in 25 club dinghies and 5 safety boats on the water.


Membership forms can be obtained from either the club’s website www.tenbysailingclub.org.uk or at the club itself. As the season is starting to draw to a close if you take up membership at the current rates you will get the rest of this year and the whole of next year included. There are many advantages to being a member a few of which are discounted bar prices, access to showers and toilets on the harbour and priority for social events, please see the website for full details.

Commodores Quiz

The next quiz will be held at the sailing club tomorrow Saturday the 29th Sept all are welcome to take part. We are raising money for the RNLI and as you know this is a very worthy cause. The cost is £5 for a team of up to six people or £1 if you think you can go it alone. There is also a raffle running alongside the quiz at £1 a square. So, if you think you are the brains of Tenby or just want to come down and have a laugh while raising money for the RNLI it will start at 1930. Raffle prize donations are gratefully received.

 The Bar & Harbour Restaurant @ The Club

The bar will be open every day from 11.30 until oct 8th when the boats are lifted out then from then on, the bar will open Thursday and Friday from 5pm and all-day Saturday and Sunday.

 Food is now available Tuesday to Saturday from 1700 serving a full menu plus the occasional specials. From October the Harbour Restaurant will be open on Friday’s and Saturday’s from 5pm and Sunday lunchtime from 12 noon. Sunday Lunch menu is available on all social media platforms @tenbysailingclub If you would like to book a table please ring 07812397193 or the Club on 01834 842762 when open. Please come and support as where is there a better place to enjoy a Sunday Lunch overlooking the harbour. All dietary needs can be taken care of just ask the chef. So, come on down there is no better setting with the full view of the harbour to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat.


Fri 26th Oct Pickle Night. Why Pickle Night? I hear you cry from the crow’s nest. The evening is a social gathering to celebrate the victory at the battle of Trafalgar but the unfortunate death of Admiral Lord Nelson. Although there is a little bit of formality to the occasion it is good fun with food and booze all included in the price. The cost is £20pp however the more people we get the less it could be. It will be held in the club room and will be set up as tables of six. Don’t worry if you are not part of a table we can fit you in. Space will be tight so booking will be essential if you would like to take part in this fun social night and in period costume please email This email address is being protected from spambots. For costumes think Nancy from Oliver Twist and you are pretty much there or period sailors costume of 1805. This is a member’s priority event.

1805 Sailors

There will be a Junior Christmas Party on Fri 7th Dec and all members Christmas party on Sat 15th, also there will be a New Years Eve three course early dinner at the club (members priority) so beat the crowds in the town and plan to spend it down the club,  details can be found down the club or on the website and the TSC social page on Facebook, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Annual Dinner

This year’s annual dinner dance will take place at Trafloyne Manor on Friday 9th Nov (slightly earlier this year due to the blues festival also being a week earlier), with the AGM at the Fri 23rd starting at 1930. The dates have had to be unavoidably split this year due to events being held around the town commemorating the ending of the first word war one hundred years ago.
